Robert Ruhe is well-known for his work (soil-geomorphology) in the Great Plains and for his work at the United States State Department in the Belgian Congo. He also served in the USDA Soil Conservation Service and was a professor at Indiana University Water Resources Institute, Cornell University, and John Hopkins University.
